Madison, Wisconsin has been called one of the biggest party towns in the nation. And you can see why. It has a large number of college kids, a very young population, and frankly, there’s a huge bar scene.
But is it the most likely city to get PG in? The purpose of this post is to use science and data to determine which places are the easiest you could possibly go in Wisconsin if you wanted to get pregnant.
After analyzing 86 of the state’s most populous areas (over 10,000 people), we came up with this list as the 10 easiest places to get pregnant in the state of Wisconsin:
- River Falls
- La Crosse
- Stevens Point
- Eau Claire
You might be thinking, “Platteville?!” Where is that, and why haven’t I gone there before?
Well if you live in Platteville, you’re probably already aware of the pure excitement level, based on the criteria we list below. And if you’re not already regularly hooking up there…well, then there’s nothing we can do about that. That’s your own personal problem.
Read on below to see how we crunched the numbers and see how the places near you fared. We’ve got the complete list of the most populous cities below so you know where to go and where to avoid on your next road trip. By the way, Green Bay came in at 12th.
The hardest place to get lucky, according to science? That would be the Village of Richfield. More on that later.
How do you decide if a place is easy to get pregnant in?
In order to rank the chances where you’re most likely to get knocked up in a state, we had to determine what criteria helps people hook up. It isn’t a stretch to assume that people will get frisky where there are plenty of young singles, areas where people aren’t married and with kids, and in areas with high population densities.
So we scraped the internet for those criteria, and it spit out the answer. Like magic.
How we crunched the numbers
We threw a lot of criteria at this one in order to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the census bureau, we analyzed:
- Population Density (The higher the better – meaning there’s a better chance to meet someone you like)
- Population with residents under 35 years old
- Population with residents under 65 years old
- Number of married households
- Average resident age
- Number of people without children
This list is a scientific analysis based on real data and is completely unbiased.
Hello, Platteville! You may have been under the radar for a long time, but no longer. When you’re looking at science and data, Platteville just squeaks past Madison as the easiest place to get laid. Let’s see why.
First off, where the heck is Platteville? If you live in the Madison area, you might be aware that it’s about 75 minutes south of Madison on Route 151.
Platteville has the lowest population of any city over 10,000 in the state of Wisconsin, and has the lowest number of people who are married. That means there’s nothing holding people back from getting to know one another ‘more closely.’
Platteville has the 2nd lowest number of people with kids in Wisconsin as well.
And ladies, Platteville skews a lot more heavily males to females. So your odds are even greater if you’re a woman.
Add it all up, and it sounds like you should take a detour when your friends head into Madison to party. You’ll thank us later.
So, Madison, looks like you’re not the belle at the ball anymore, are you?
There are significant differences in the numbers. Despite being a college town, Madison is 8 spots behind Platteville when it comes to cities with married people, and 5 spots behind Platteville when it comes to the percentage of people with kids.
But for anyone who has been there/done that, you know Madison is a really fun place where you can get your groove on quite regularly if you’re motivated enough.
3. River Falls
Home of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, this town of 15,000 is a really ‘active’ place, statistically. Located a short drive from Minneapolis down I-94, it might be quite a trek for most of you to head that direction. But it might be worth it, if you know what I mean.
Only 25% of the population here have kids, and the average population here is 24.2 years old, which is the 3rd youngest in the state. Plus, only a third of the people who live here are married, which is the 5th lowest ratio in Wisconsin.
Hey fellas: River Falls skews heavily female, as well, so it sounds like if you’re a dude, you just need to have a pulse to get some in River Falls.
Another college town, this place is home to UW-Whitewater. So you can imagine, there’s lots of skin contact going on here.
Whitewater has the least amount of people over the age of 35 in the state, and it skews more men. That means there’s plenty of chances that cougars on the prowl could probably roam freely and unhindered if they so wished. (Wink).
Only 21% of people in Whitewater have kids, and the average age is 21.9. Okay, that’s a little too young, maybe?
5. La Crosse
Another college town, La Crosse is home to another UW campus, and according to Wikipedia, the students are smart. So, if you’re looking to get lucky here, make sure you can hold an intelligent conversation.
Just about 21% of the population here has kids, which means you can have a good chance of meeting someone who isn’t tied down. No one wants the embarrassment of bumping into someone cute only to realize they’re in a hurry to get to the nearest baby changing station.
Here’s an added bonus: While only 33% of the population is married here, nearly half of the population is older than 35. Which means there are still lots of chances to meet someone who ‘waited’ to settle down here.
6. Stevens Point
Way out on Route 39 near Wisconsin Rapids is Stevens Point, where you have the lowest number of people with kids (20%) in the entire state. Score!
The average age here is 26, which is 5th lowest in the state, and only a third of the population is married. It skews more female.
Odds are, no one is going to Stevens Point for Spring Break. Or any other vacation. So, if you’re a little randy one weekend, get on up there and see if you can make some magic happen.
Out on the lake is the large city of Oshkosh, where the population is a lot older than the cities above. However, only 35% are married, which means you have a large population of older people who haven’t tied the knot yet.
There are slightly more females than males here.
Guys: If you’re in your early 30s and have a boat, and you still can’t get laid in Oshkosh, then something is seriously wrong with you.
So there’s already a lot of hooking up happening in Milwaukee, and it’s probably not a big deal that Milwaukee made this list.
33% of the people in Milwaukee have kids. But only 30% of the people here are married. That means 3% of the population in Milwaukee is single and with a kid(s).
So while you can certainly get lucky here, you’d better make sure you aren’t getting caught up in any drama. Odds are that person trying to pick you up has some baggage at home.
9. Eau Claire
Eau Claire has a lot of single women, where the population is the 6th youngest, overall, in the state of Wisconsin. Residents here average 30.1 years old. You know what they say about dirty thirty.
38% of the people here are married, and only 25% have kids.
And if the bar scene is too packed for you here, you can always hop in the car and drive 15 minutes to…
Just a short drive away from Eau Claire is Menomonie, a little city on Route 94 that most people only pass through on their way to and from Minneapolis. Well, it might be worth staying a bit after you hear these numbers.
The population is the 4th youngest here, averaging 23 years old, and the percentage of people married here is the 4th fewest at 29%.
You know what that means, right? You’re getting laid.
There You Have It
If you’re looking at cities in Wisconsin where it’s easy to get laid because the population is young, single and without kids, this is an accurate list.
Who ever said science is a bore?
Mobile users: Here’s a link to the complete data chart.
If you’re also curious enough, here are the hardest places to get laid in Wisconsin, according to science.
- Richfield (Pop. 11,334)
- Mequon (Pop. 23,232)
- Brookfield (Pop 37,925)
- Muskego (Pop. 24,279)
